Is this a full MES?
No. It is the production layer of an ERP: work orders, bills of materials, lines and quality control, sharing the item catalogue and stock with the rest of the platform. It does not do machine-level shop-floor control.
Does a work order actually reduce stock?
Yes. Issuing components to a work order creates real stock movements against the warehouse, which is why the job cost and the stock figure stay consistent with each other.
Can we see whether we have the components before releasing?
Yes — the bill of materials is built from the shared catalogue, so availability is checked against actual warehouse stock rather than an assumed quantity.
How does quality control link to traceability?
QC results are recorded against the work order, and where components are lot-tracked in Inventory, the output traces back to the lots consumed.
What if we only assemble occasionally?
Then switch the module on and use work orders alone. Every tool can be enabled individually, so a workshop that assembles a few units a month does not need to adopt production lines and BOM depth it will not use.
